we are in the middle of the GCSE plays at school, 3 one act plays, canterbury tales done by traveling players, all boys so some of them play girls, complete with false boobs which surprisingly they love :) blood brothers, about twins seperated at birth who become friends, and sequence of events, a victorian thriller!
i did a 12 and a half hour day on thursday and yesterday, am in today for a few hours, and then we have the performances tomorrow and friday, till 10pm both nights i expect :( of course it would be the week before we have a ball on the saturday!
but, my dress is totally wearable, it just doesn't have a finished train yet, but since that's detachable, it isn't completely the end of the world if i don't manage to finish it in time. i really hope i can, but i have to be sensible! i can work on it when i get home tonight, and thursday and friday i'm not going into school till late afternoon, but i have to make myself a fabulous victorianesqe birthday cake for the ball too!
i figure if i can bake the cakes thursday maybe, then i can ice them friday and on saturday all i have to do is assemble and cover with flowers. i'm going to make 3 tiers, one carrot cake, one lime and coconut and one chocolate, all with cream coloured frostings, cream cheese for the carrot, lime and coconut for the, you guessed it, lime and coconut! and just vanila buttercream for the chocolate. then i will buy lots of cream flowers, roses and freesias and tulips, anything i can find, and put them in between the layers and maybe a little bouquet in a little holder on top, i'll have to see how it goes. aunty jac lent me her pillars for wedding cakes, so it will be totally over the top :)
also, i bought myself a new AG doll, for my birthday :) she will be an 1860s/70s girl, and will have a wardrobe just like mine :)
all in all, i'm feeling quite happy today, i didn't think it posible after the week i had last week. but that's what a 3 day weekend will do for you :)
