Finished (almost) pics

So, I got Clare to take some finished pics of my red wool round gown, in the garden in the sunshine, lovely! They're



I have got to make some fichus, I think I caught the sun a bit on the back of my neck just in the time it took to take the pictures!


My cap won't stay on my head propperly, so I think I need a loop for a hair grip or two.


With the cream open work stripe linen I bought for an apron, and the rest will become a Regency gown for Mummy.


And you can see, when I raise my arms - as demonstrated by my oh so elegant and lovely pose! I get gapps so need a couple of pins to keep the bodice and apron front conected!



I'm just about to leave work for home, probably won't get much time to sew tonight, but if I do get any time, I think I'll be working on bathing suits for a change of pase!

I usually use a straight pin to keep my cap on. It works very well!

I tried a straight pin, but it just slid back down the length of my hair... do you take a couple of 'stitches' with the pin, or just one?

*thinking about how I do it*

I do take a few stitches. And I try to use reproduction pins too--they're grippier. I also put the pin fairly close to the bun, which helps too, I think!
