well, my good resolutions of yesterday all kinda went up in smoke, the only one i'm managing to keep is to go to bed as early as i can, to whit i'm typing this in bed...at 9:16pm!!!
i wanted to get up early and take roly for a walk before we took clare to work, finally dragged my but out of bed at 8:45, so puppy didn't get his walk till we got back from shopping. i wanted to finish making the frock coat today, but have so far only cut the peices out and ironed on the interfacing, i HATE cutting out! my back was killing me so i had to stop.
i realised as i got into bed that i haven't finished an xmas present i need to for tomorrow (an indoor smores kit), so will have to do that as well as bake something yummy, take roly for a walk, get as much as is humanly possible done on the coat, wash my hair, do the washing and a hundred other things i can't even think of!
the main problem today was that we went to dunelm, i only needed interfacing, i came away with giant eyelets for a handbag (cos they were in the sale) white fabric with gold stars embroidered on it for a handbag (it was a remnant) cream and chocolate HUGE spotty fabric (ditto!!) and, and this was my downfall, some polly stuff that looks like slubbed silk in a gorgeous pale cream with an embroidered pattern of trailing folliage in pinks and browns, i found a remnant, 1 1/2 metres, which i thought would make a perfect 18th century jacket, and would go over the quilted petticoat i'm going to make and the petticoat for the cream sacque back, great i thought, then mummy persuaded me to get some more, as there was another remnant on the bolt, and the 2 remnants plus 1 metre would make another anglaise, and for £24 i couldn't resist, the fabric is soooo pretty! when i got home, i brought the bolt of cream fabric out to see how the colours went...perfectly! then i realised what an absolutely wonderful sacque it would make, with a plain underskirt and ruffles, so i spent a while pinning it to my dress form to see what it'll look like, and to show you guys! i think i'll just have enough, i only have 1 piece long enough to do the back pleats, but i figure i can make my 2 drops by having two side back seams instead of one centre back seam, in fact, since the fronts would only be half a drop anyway, i think i won't need side seams either, we'll see, so 1 day in and i've already added something to the list, looks like i'll be wearing a sacque back to the ball next year!!
oh well, off to the land of nod for me!
good night all!
