Jun. 11th, 2007 06:14 pmwow, it's been a long time since i posted! school is so super busy ATM, we're doing a play with year 7, they are about 11 and there are at least 60 of them! this wouldn't be too much of a problem, but we're doing a play about noah's ark with them! so most of the little monsters are animals, and i have to make their costumes :( luckily i don't have to make their masks as well, they are doing them in art lessons.
also i have no costume sewing to tell about, my next job will be the ice blue taffeta 1860s ensemble, 2 bodices and a skirt. i also will buy some fine silk satin next time i'm in london to recover my second parasol, the cover it has is very torn and dirty, i bought it on ebay. the first one i got i recovered to go with the cream and gold dress i made in my last year at college, which fits clare really well, so if she and i both go to the victorian festival we can't both use the same parasol, so i need to get on with mine :) i can't decide what colour to make it, the first one has a fancy carved ivory handle and is cream satin with a cream fringe trim, this one has a simple bone handle, the original cover is a pretty sage green, i could go with that, or i was thinking about pink to match my bonnet, but maybe that would be overkill, so what about a light blue? hmm, decisions decisions!
i know have to go and make some jewellery, i have a craft fair on sunday, and nothing to sell!
