a brand new sewing project

i haven't even started my list of projects for 2009, and i've already started working on the first project :)
clare's been wanting me to make girl clothes for her to wear when we dress up, so i decided to make her some bustle stuff to wear when we go to the victorian festival in wales, (and, sooner and therefore more important! the ball in wales in april) so today i found the patterns from the bustle outfit i made in college that fits her perfectly but is far too heavy to wear to a ball (and is a tiny bit too long, so she can't wear comfy shoes) and i've finished sewing the casings on her new bustle :) it's blue, pink and white stripes, the same fabric my pocket hoops are made of, with blue casings. i just need to make a petticoat (have the pattern already too) and then we can work out her dress. she's going back to uni at the end of the week so i want to get as much done as i can this week, hopefully get the petti made and the hem marked at least, and a bodice mockup fitted, might manage it, who knows :)
any way, now i need to go to bed, horrid work in the morning :( i feel so inspired to sew again, it's wonderful!

i've just remembered that clare told us this evening she can't come to the ball in april, so now she won't need bustle stuff till august, the end of august. so i should probably concentrate on the stuff we need in april and june before i work on her bustle stuff, but, oh, i was kind of on a roll thinking about all the bits i want to make for her, boo :( maybe i'll work on her stuff while she's here, then move on to our stuff. any way, i'm going to do a to do list for the year while i'm on my lunch break tomorrow i think, so maybe that'll give me an idea of what i should do :)
