a ball gown fit for a princess

so, the ball is on may 10th, so it's my birthday ball! mummy is being queen victoria (it's supposed to be queen victoria's birthday ball, but i know better!) so i, as her daughter, must be a princess!! i'm going to be princess alice, since her birthday is april 2? (something, i'll have to look that up later) she was her second daughter, and very pretty :)

I was wondering about that. I saw that the ebay auction was for 3 metres and I knew that wasn't enough for the gown. :p But I know that you know what you are doing, so I didn't ask.

ooo, intriguing :) mummy says 4, then you can bring your corset!! joking apart, if you want any help with it, do bring it and i'll see if i have any suggestions, or do you just want to forget about it and wear your old one :)
anyway, 4ish will be great, we always seem a bit rushed! now, cheese, fruit, plain or sweet?!

I think I have exactly that pink silk from the same person. Its got a red back to it? It is lovely isn't it.

I bought mine as I didn't originally have enough of a soft dusky rose taffeta I bought from Chatelaine Silks. I eventually found the roll of it at Stephen Walters Silk Factory in my local town and it matched perfectly so I now have enough of the dusky rose taffeta so don't need the one from ziza.zone (I DO love his/her silks!).

I doubt I will have any other use for it and I have 3 yards of it. I'd rather it went to a good home. Do you want it? If so, then I will need to send it to you on Monday as I will be leaving to go to the USA on Wednesday and won't be back for a week.

If you do want it then send me your email addy before Monday and I can get it packed up and sent to you.

Love the dress itself. And I am in awe that you will get it all completed by 10th May!! Shall look forward to seeing it.

oh thank you, that would be great! yes it does have a red back, i was quite shocked when i saw it in the packet, i thought it was the wrong stuff :) i know you can never have enough fabric for a dress as silly as that :) so yes please!!!
i hope i can get it finished! i'm lucky working in a school, the hours are quite good for sewing when i get home :)

4 sounds perfect. I have given an obscene gesture to the corset mock up and have no plans of looking at it anytime soon. :p I'm going with the old one for now. In fact, I'm going to mock up my ballgown bodice in a few minutes.

I can't wait to see the pink silk. You know pink is my favorite color. :)

hee hee, i think so :) i love pink, i don't wear much of it in real life, but in costumes? pink is the stuff of all my fantasies :)
