Progress!

Well, I've been working hard :) I decided to sew it by hand after all, and it's going nice and quickly so far. These are some pics I took this morning, the back skirt is nearly all sewn on now, so just side seams, hem and sleeves, and it's done!
Anyway,




We're having some friends round for tea tomorrow, and then we have dancing, but hopefully I'll be able to work on it some, if not I'll be taking it to work with me again :) I took it to work yesterday, but at about half past ten I banged my head on a shelf so hard my teeth clashed together! I felt sick and it hurt very very much! I decided I felt too icky to stay at work, especially since I was barmaiding last night, so I came home, had a good long nap, felt all better and started to sew! I was barmaiding again tonight, hence being wide awake at 2 in the morning :D

Thank you! Hopefully I'll be able to squeeze elbow length sleeves out of the fabric i have left, I wanted to do long sleeves, since this is very definitely a day dress, but I don't think I'll have enough :(

At first I thought this was the same cut as your pink ballgown, but the back looks like one piece. How do you get into it? :p

Thank you! I know! I was so surprised at how quickly the hand sewing is going, but because the silk is so thin and I've lined it with cotton lawn it's very easy to sew, the needle just glides through :)
