the year 11 plays went very well, i should have photos soon, i have to recharge my camera's batteries to see what the pics my mother took are like, if they're any good i'll post them, if not i should get the 'official' photos on monday.
my hand is really sore, i spent all of today using a staple gun making scenery for 'death by jealousy' (what our version of amadeus is called), and i was worried i wouldn't be able to work the throtle properly on my moped!
i was wrong about being in rehearsals all weekend, the dress rehearsal is on monday! yay!!! a whole weekend to myself! i'm going to go upstairs and finish making a teddy i started last weekend, and if i feel energetic i might start another one, then tomorrow i want to get started on the toile for the 1860s evening bodice, and when i get bored i'll alternate with bonnet making! i 'salvaged' a couple of straw hats from the wardrobe today, so i'll take them apart and soak them to get them supple again, and make me a spoon bonnet!
i ordered some fabric yesterday, stupid paypal wouldn't let me use my new amazon card :( so i missed out on $232 of points! i got some 4" warp printed ribbon for the bonnet http://linux.washwebworks.net/fabrics/images/R211b.jpg, some lilac moire ribbon for the evening dress trimming http://linux.washwebworks.net/fabrics/images/R35s.jpg and a lovely yellow jacquard for a regency gown http://linux.washwebworks.net/fabrics/images/S01b.jpg and some blue taffeta for a short pelise and bonnet trim http://linux.washwebworks.net/fabrics/images/S139a.jpg. i'm getting so carried away thinking about my regency things - i really want to get started! i'm going to make the silk dress something like Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting with a cream wool cloak or cape like Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting and the blue taffetta will be a pelise like the burgundy one kate beckinsale wears in emma, worn over a white striped cotton dress, with a white silk bonnet with blue trimming like the one in the snowshill collection, (it's in costume in detail and the national trust hats and bonnets book) my ball dress will be made, hopefully, from a sari, it's cream with a red and gold border, i saw it and instantly thought of the dress becky wears in the bbc version of vanity fair, when she's being presented to the prince regent, i'm not sure but i think it's silk, any ideas how i find out?
any way... like i said, i get far too excited! oh, and i found the perfect boots http://www.pastclass.co.uk/ (click on historic shoes, roll down, and they're the first pic, i'm going to get black ones... at least to start with!) they'll do for most of the 19th century i think, but will be especially great under a regency day dress! and they'll be good under my plaid dress cos it wouldn't be long anough for shoes with a heel!
oh, and i also want to get these http://shop.joke.co.uk/epages/jokecouk.storefront/446df87600db9f92620dd9cc6ce3077f/Product/View/3996&2D2?Pid=1273 at some point, but i'm really bad in heels, so... but i really need them to wear with my 1890s cycling outfit!
anyhoo, i'd better get on, besides, piglet feels like she's about to fall asleep on my lap, so if i don't go now i'll have to evict a sleeping kitten, which is against my religion!!
