mlsdesignshey everyone, i'm glad you all had a great christmas, mine was lovely and sad in equal parts, christmas day itself was nice, but spending yesterday with family we normally only see at xmas was weird, we're used to not having daddy at home, but the last time we were in suffolk was last xmas and he was there, so a bit weird and sad, but not too bad.
i had some lovely presents though, one of which was a new lap top which i'm typing on now! i had loads of socks and books and chocolates and things, but also a lovely hat box which my new bonnet will live in, the complete sex and the city on dvd and far too many lovely things too mention!
i have finally got some progress pics of the anglaise to show you, they aren't too great though, as the lighting is bad and i didn't think to find a white wall to pose against!
the bodice is sewn together and the sleeves are sewn in, but the rest is all at the pinned together stage - the trim and the cuffs and the skirt.
this is almost the only shot where you can tell i have a bust! it all needed tugging down and my bust need 'hoicking' up!
the back isn't very clear, but it'spoint will be better with bones in there.
nice little pleats! you can see the pins glinting from underneath.
the trim is all pinned on, when i sew the braid down i will go through to the lining and therefore sew the pleated strip down at the same time.
the cuffs are going to be sewn on with the same pass as all of the trim.
silly pic of me and clare! she will have a silver velvet frock coat too, and there will be many pictures after the ball.

my skirt is muslin, there is a cotton sheeting petticoat underneath and a pair of stays and shift. the stays are old ones that i adapted to fit me, i will eventually make a new pair from old damask table napkins.
the skirt has a fall front, i was just going to tie it either side, i got big gaps on the petticoat doing it that way, so this is better.
and just for fun, the puppy in the afternoon on xmas day, exhausted from all of the carnage! the snowman he is cuddling was in his stocking and is his new favourite toy!
