As I said before, Calum is coming to the Bath Minuet Company ball with us
in a couple of weeks. He will be wearing his Regency kit again, but I didn't want to wear Regency to the only Georgian ball we go to, but I do want to match him (obviously! We needs good photos!!!) so I thought the obvious thing would be to make 1790s stuff :)
I have in the stash a short length of silver metal and white, narrow striped, silk to make an over robe; and found a lovely cotton muslin with a narrow silver metal stripe in Leicester to make a round gown. I've been working on the round gown and finally have something that's starting to look like a dress!

Here, have some hideous fitting photos too ;)

I have a feeling I'm going to be skirting the fine line between fuggly and awesome ;) no one ever said the high waisted, full skirted, fluffy look was flattering though did they?! And maybe the over robe will calm it down a bit...

Aw, I think that's going to be adorbs! Also, I finally bought my plane tickets and I'll be arriving in London on June 7 (at some ungodly hour of the morning, IIRC) and making my way north as soon as I can collect my baggage. I'll be in Nottingham until the 16th and although some of that time will of course be dedicated to wedding stuff I would love to see you and I think you should show me where you keep finding all the fabulous fabric you keep popping up with. ;) I'm a train n00b but I'm sure I could arrange to come down and visit for a bit!

Thank you :) Also, HOORAY!! I'll have to check what I'm up to with work, and my sister is getting married on the 13th (is that your weekend too by any chance?!) but I would love for you to come visit! you're welcome to stay too if you like, or just pop down for the day, which ever fits in! As for the train, getting to Loughborough, or even Barrow Upon Soar (which is the village I live in) is really easy :)

HA, yes, that is the day we've picked...Friday wedding FTW! I'll know more as we get closer; so far all I know for sure is that we're doing a walk-through on the evening of the 12th, and that sometime that week my mom is going to want to look at flower options, but other than that I'm still ???? We'll plan something though :)

I have a deep and abiding love for the fashion of the 1790s. I think it's going to be super awesome!

It isn't? Doh! I think studying for midterms is frying my brain. I got the key words, silver white and silk fabric (I can't tell fabric types from sight) and just assumed.

I love it! But then again, I totally love the weird fluffy marshmallow look of the 1790s. :)
