we went into town today to catch the sales, i was looking for tiny silver spangles, and didn't expect to find them, but i did find a top with spangles sewn all around the neckline, it was £15 so i didn't buy it but meant to go back for it, i thought i should look in the sewing shops first and also check if any cheap clothing shops had a similar top, I FOUND ONE!! and it was only £3 and has about 4 times as many spangles as i need, even if i manage to match the fabric for the trim on the skirt.
i have finished sewing the skirt to the waist and hemming it, and have sewn on half the trim on the neckline. i can't do the trim on the skirt because i don't have the fabric, i cut off the un-embroidered selveges to make the trim for the bodice but there isn't enough for the skirt as well, i'll see if i can find any next time i go to london, but that won't be until a long time after the ball i expect.
yesterday we found 2 rolls, each 15 metres, of cream jacquard polly something for...£10 a roll!! we got 3o metres for 67 pence a metre!! even if i don't make any costumes form it we can make dining room curtains for the new house, we can probably even do curtains for the whole house with that much!!!
