Fussing with lapels
Sep. 11th, 2009 12:03 amSo, this morning I took ages to get started AGAIN and when I did start all I managed to do was set a straw hat on my head and leave it in the airing cupboard while Clare and I went into town to find feathers and ribbon for hats and bonnets. When we were in the train coming home we had a call from our friends from dancing, could they pop round on their way home for a cup of tea. So from about 4 till nearly 8 I was chatting, drinking tea and eating cake, ie. not sewing :p But I did manage to finish Mummy's over robe (apart from the hand sewing, which we'll do on holiday) before supper, and I've just spent the last couple of hours draping Mummy's pelise bodice. I think it's done, all it needs is an inch adding to the centre front to make the double breasted overlap prettier and the other half cutting out for a fitting, so I'll do all that tomorrow morning (hopefully!) and if I work like stink all day I might manage to finish by the end of the day *nibbles finger nails* Eeep! Why do I do it to myself?!?! I never thought I was the kind to thrive under pressure!!
