But instead, I made her a spencer :) I used some cream wool, it's double breasted with reveres and a collar of brown cotton velvet, all in the stash, the buttons will be velvet too. Mummy said she thought she wouldn't be cold anyway, and I decided a spencer would be easier and quicker, and I think it was!
So, now I think I'm all set for Bath, just lots of hand sewing to do next week while we're away, but Clare will help, so it shouldn't be too bad! I even managed to get round to something that's needed doing for years! Mummy and I share a cream silk petticoat for 18th century, last time we both needed to wear it she wore her pink cotton too short under petti and was an old fashioned ditzy witch of a fairy godmother, but that won't do for a Baroque dancing evening! So I decided to make a matching skirt for my Anglaise, instead of the white muslin or the cream silk I've used to make do. I had so little fabric I had to make a tiny machined hem, and piece the hell out of the back with some almost matching fabric! I had enough for 20" at the back, luckily the pollonaising doesn't make it show!
I'm so tired that I'm not quite in the excited, going on holiday state yet, but I think I will be by tomorrow :)
