Home again, home again, jiggety jig
Aug. 31st, 2010 08:15 pmSO, we got back from the Victorian festival late on Sunday night, it was fun. but not as good as before, I think I was just burned out and tired, and therefore feeling rather cranky and out of sorts. I'm glad we went though, because the bits that were fun really were fun!
I'm looking forward to the next couple of months more though. We're going on holiday a week on Saturday, a proper holiday with no dressing up involved! We're going to Kent for a week, and the day we come home our dance group has a Victorian Balmoral Ball, which will be very small, so lots of being silly!
At the end of that week we're going to Bath for the weekend, for the tail end of the Jane Austen festival. In October we have 2 Regency balls to go to, and will be doing day time Regency things on both occasions also, so new Regency things are the plan for the moment.
I'm hoping to get my sew-jo back this week, because school starts on Monday, and I want to have hand sewing to do while we're away. I want to finally get round to making my blue wool spencer with silk trimmings, which will be an entirely hand sewing project, and Mummy and Clare could both do with day things, )Clare has one new dress, but the bib front hasn't worked so I'm going to re-do it) and we could all do with WARM outerwear. I'm not sure if I have any fabric for a day dress for Mummy, but hopefully we'll be going to some sari shops in the not too distant future, I'm hoping to find some printed cotton ones...
