i've been working solidly on the bride's dress all weekend, and last night i finally finished the skirt, with a trip out to take the new overlocker back, which broke after about 30mins of sewing, with only 10" left to do!! just have to put on the hook and bar. i then started finishing the corset, but came unstuck at the eyelets, i didn't have any spares as i thought, and the ones i bought when replacing the overlocker were the stupid kind without washers, i then thought i'd try the eyelet attachment i bought when i got my new sewing machine, but when we bought it we thought the 6mm would be too small, let alone the 4mm, so i only got the 6mm, thinking it'd be no good, and turns out it is no good, but only because it's too big!! so, hand sewn eyelets it is! finished them this morning! i'd nearly finished cutting all the bones, and was putting on a cap on one of the spiral bones when my pliers slipped and bit my finger! not only do i have a big blood blister but also a cut, right next to the blister, but not close enough to stop it swelling up and HURTING!!! don't know how quickly i'll be able to finish it now, just have the bottom to slip stitch shut. then i can finally get on with stuff for the fair on saturday!
