i'm starting to feel better now, not so achy, but i still can't walk properly, and am very tired all the time. i had thought of seeing if i could go back to work tomorrow, but it'd be difficult for mummy to take me in, and as i'm not 100% yet, walking all over the school all day, and up and down stairs to my work room would probably not be a good idea! so i think i might end up taking the rest of the week off, but at least that way my foot and knee can heal totally.
i did do a bit of sewing today, i was going mad! not costume related, but still sewing!

i started a baby quilt for one of my dolls last week, and finished it today. i had 3 prints, 2 6" squares of each, an old white sheet and an old pink cotton dress of mummy's, i think it's too small, but Amy obviously likes it :)

better shot of the quilt, it's 22 inches square

it's only very simple, the squares don't all match up and my quilting pattern is very boring, but i can only get better, right!
Amy is a case in point, she's sooo much better than the last one

i need to take some better photos, having her on the table kind of ruins the illusion a bit :)
i'm especially pleased with her hair, and i think the next one will be even better

she's so tiny!!

my stays that i started back in january are nearly finished, so there will be costume progress soon ... i hope!!!

The quilt looks awesome and that is one amazing doll! How do you make them?

Also, Im glad you are feeling a bit better. :)

thank you :) the doll is made by taking apart a normal child's play-doll, and repainting it and making a new jointed body and rooting hair - using a felting needle and mohair. this doll is a bit different, companies have started making kits, specially sculpted dolls parts, as opposed to a complete doll. the process is called 'reborning' and if you look on ebay you'll see loads of them!
i am feeling better, but my foot is still so sore when i try to walk :( i've never been off sick in this job before though :)

Very nice! The quilt is very cute and the babydoll is so realistic. I don't know how you managed to do the hair. I've always wanted to try my hand at dollmaking but was never sure how to do it. I am more interested in the barbie size dolls though.

thank you, the hair took a loooong time! imagine poking a fine needle into the head 1000s of times, and you get the idea! at least the needle is in a holder, so it's not hard, just tedious. try google-ing repainted barbie dolls, you'll probably come up with tutorials and all sorts.

My hubby had two days a couple weeks ago where he woke up dizzy and had a hard time walking. Never ran a fever, didn't have a headcold, so we have no idea what was causing it. It went away as quickly as it came.
Now I wonder if it was *something* going around? All I've heard of is strep throat running around town.

hmmm, a mystery? i think my tiredness is just due to the battering my mscles took in the accident, and i know the reason i can't walk is coz the bike squashed my foot :)
