mlsdesignsfinally the play is over! i still have to tidy up and put all the costumes away tomorrow, but that'll be easy, and it's like closure! one down, only 6 more to go!
i tried on my corset mockup yesterday, it actually fit, like a charm! for the first time in my life, something i made fit first time! (ok, so i am going to take about 1/2" out of the bust at the top of the side front seams, but i don't really need to, it just feels alittle too lose for ... confidence) i think the only reason it fit is because of meg, my duct tape dummy. i could try it on her and see that the cups were HUGE, and adjust them before i tried it on me. yay for sticky tape and a mum and sister with a free afternoon!
i took pics, and will post them tomorrow.
going to london next wed, getting the train down and then my mum will bring me back with her when she finishes working.
i've had no luck with the spring wire, i really wanted to make my crinoline like the original cages you see in the museums, not with thick stips of metal which is how we were taught, but i think i've drawn a blank there. bah.
