meet the winnie dog!!
May. 17th, 2007 10:46 pmtoday, after lunch, we went to get our new dog :) she's 3, from a rescue place, and a whippet cross greyhound. she's very very lovely!

i didn't get to spend much time with her before i had to go to work, but it was good coz then clare got to bond with her the most, as she's clare's dog.
work was the performances, 4 plays, all very different, a modern office play, a victorian melodrama, a noel coward type farce, and a comedia del arte play, great fun for me to costume :)
the first play was all modern dress, and all i had to do was collect it and put a pocket in a skirt, so i didn't bother with pics :)
the second play was the coward farce, set in the 20s, so flapper dresses were in order!

the third play was the melodrama, you've all seen this dress being made, but here's a finished view :)

i also made plus fours for the villain, and found the moustache, and glued it on!

last was the comedia play, a mixture of the 18th century and the 50s :)

sorry the pics are not great, we forgot to get better seats, and had to sit on the platform set up for the examiner tomorrow, this is a big part of their GCSE drama exam, and has to be examined by an external examiner.
i'll be at work all day tomorrow, but not 'working', mummy has to take me in the morning, so once we've re-set the stage, i'll probably spend the day making me some clothes :) i had to take my overlocker in coz the work one is bust, and that's where the fabric is!
the weekend will be spent in cuddling winnie and making a bathing suit :)

Date: 2007-05-18 07:07 pm (UTC)And the costumes are fabulous - I just love the striped 18c-meets-50s number! And the one for the melodrama play too, as I know from experience how hard it can be to pull of the early 1900s and I think you did a rock star job of it! Go you! :)

Date: 2007-05-19 07:57 am (UTC)i was really pleased with the way the melodrama dress came out, and, which is amazing, the actress liked it too! normally they hate anything not totally fashionable!
