phew, i'm sooo tired! i did a village craft fair today, for which i have been making jewellery and dolls for days and days, like last night, i stayed up really late, for me :) till midnight to finish the last little doll. the fair wasn't really very good, but some money is better than none i guess!
the play will finally be over next saturday!! that means all work really, since i've been doing lots of over time, so i'll probably be in again on the monday and tuesday, but hopefull that'll be it, for the year!!! at the end of july i have a drama workshop, but that won't be too bad, and i don't start real work again till next january, doing less than half a day a week doesn't really count :) so hopefully soon i will be able to make costumes again, more or less full time.
but first, i have a question for you all! when you were small, ie. nine or ten or so, what would you have loved to dress up in? i want to make historic costumes for my modern dolls, and don't know what period to go for :) i'm not making historically accurate dresses, but dress up stuff, so they can be fairy tail characters and things too. i was thinking i might make a rapunzel outfit for the blonde :) (the other is a brunette, although her hair is not as long)

For me it was fairy-tale type princesses or fairies.

When I was little, all I wanted to be was a princess when I dressed up. I was heavily influenced by Disney, but I loved all fairy tales in general. I was especially partial to Beauty and the Beast and Sleeping Beauty. Anything 18th century influenced really.

i used to love the story of beauty and the beast, not the disney version, but the real one :) 18th century fantasy princess it is then!
