i'm really pleased with the way it turned out, and it's really comfy too! a bit tight round the rib cage, but you've gotta suffer to be beautiful, right! in the flesh i think the red stitching looks a bit stark, but i'm getting used to it now, and my family said it was great, so maybe it's just because i was so close to it when i was stitching it.
i don't think you can see, but i've had a massive tidy up in my room, my friend gemma came round and we had a mad blitz. it's so much better, and makes me really eager to sew every morning - i love being on holiday!
now i just need to make a crinoline and petticaot and the undies are all done!

spring clean shelfie :)

thank you! everyone on corsetmakers has said prety much the same thing about the stitching! i think next time i'll go for pink though, maybe pink all over, for a set of C18th stays!

I'm having a terrible time with my Victorian corset...*pulls hair out* maybe I should go back to this pattern, I tried making this one last year and put it away when I bought the commercial pattern.

It looks great!! Very inspiring!

i REALLY wouldn't recomend this pattern if you've been having trouble, putting in the gussets was SOOOOOO problematic! that's why there's red stitching there, to cover up the HUGE mess i made sewing in the first one! i much prefer making the panneled corsets, but i think these gussets give a much curvier shape, which is what i wanted, but wouldn't be right for a bustle.

Oh, it looks great! I, for one, love the red flossing...it's very eye-catching. :)

i have just noticed that the gathers on the lower back of the chemise sit right at the bottom of the corset, so i can say i meant them to be so far down, can't i!!
