sewing progress!

i've actually been sewing! i've hemmed the top flounce on mummy's ballgown, and i'm cutting out the 2 lower flounces as we speak!
i've also been playing with my ball gown, i don't really think i can call it re-trimming though! it's almost a whole new dress!


i think i may need more tulle, i had to do the bottom layer double because it's so fine, then the top layer is double too, and probably will be the same length, so i don't think i have quite enough. it looks less blue through the tulle in person, and the pansies are more lavender than blue.

i tried it with pink flowers, but the purple looks much prettier i think, plus, i had loads of purple flowers left over from mummy's bonnet, so i may not even need to buy any more! the ribbon is from The Ribbon Store on ebay, i'm going to use 2" i think, but i'll get some 3" too, just in case, i'm sure i'l find a use for it :) i may want to use wider ribbon to make the bows on the 'bertha'. i think i'll probaly put a posy of flowers on the centre of the bertha too, and put them in my hair.

any way, enough babble, i need to get back to sewing!
