next dress!

first, thank you SO much for all your wonderful comments on mummy's dress!!!! now that it's finally finished i can move onto re-trimming mine :)
i found some pretty embroidered tulle lace on the market, for 50 pence a metre!! so i bought 3 cards of it, about 24 metres, thinking i might trim the edges of the tulle over skirts with it, and buying extra just because it was so cheap!!! but, you guessed it, i've used all 24 metres of it :) i've had to make the bertha slightly less full at the back because i actually ran out of lace!
this morning i made 8 posies out of all the lilac, purple and white flowers i had, 5 big for the skirt, 2 small for the shoulders and one for the centre of the bosom. now i just have to decide how to attach them, they're a bit heavier than i thought, so pinning or brooch backs might not work very well, i'll have to have a play later.
for now, i have a few 'in progress' shots of the over skirts as they are now.

now, tomorrow we're taking my aunt back home, so out most of the day, in the evening i'm barmaiding for a friend, won't get home till late, and the ball is saturday, and we're leaving first thing in the morning, so i really only have friday to work on it, wish me luck!
