A long over due update!
May. 17th, 2009 06:07 pmWell, in case you were wondering what I've been up to all this past week, let's just say I've been rather busy sewing!

Yes, Clare wanted a new dress, and I foolishly said yes!
She already had the combinations and corset, and the bustle was finished except for a waistband, so I just had to make a petticoat, skirt, bodice and over-skirt.

Yes, my sister is very spoilt :) But she was very good, she did all the hemming for me, and put most of the petticoat together. But we couldn't have picked a worse week really, I came down with a stinker of a cold on Monday, and have been feeling so ill all week, the last thing I wanted to do was frantic sewing!!
Now I just have to catch up with the sewing for the 27th when Mummy and I are doing a dance display with our group. Three styles of dance needs three sets of costume! We both have victorian of course; we have regency dresses, but no chemisettes or head-wear yet; I have 18th century but so far all Mummy has is my old outgrown stays, my other top petticoat but no actual petticoat, no bumroll and no DRESS yet!! At least the round eared cap I made last year, while being a bit big is still passable! The dress is nearly done though, want a sneak peak of what I started with?

Can you see the potential? Aren't the sleeves gorgeous!!!
