Todays demo

was loads of fun! We had a lovely day for it, a bit too hot, but rather that than raining!! There was a lovely crowd all day, and we had lots of people joining in, which was wonderful!
Any way, I know you just want the pictures! So

My new dress! I love it! It's exactly how I imagined it to be when I was planning it :) I forgot to take any photos without the bonnet though :( I think you'll have to wait till the end of the month after Llandod now!

I love it, the elegant simplistic lines and masculine colour of the dress, and a silly bit of froth as a bonnet!

I didn't remember till I was ironing it that I needed to alter the bib front, but luckily it fit so much better with a corset I didn't need to fix it, but I will, for next time I feel the need of coolth!!

Me being me I forgot to take a photo of Mummy's new hat, she took it off as soon as I would let her, she was sooo hot!

So now tomorrow we have a BBQ and then back to work on Monday!! This weekend is proving to be exactly what I needed, I was getting tired, stiff and grumpy, I needed to leave the sewing room for a while! Tomorrow will be even better for me :D

Thank you! I think I'm going to see if I can get a proper pattern for a bonnet, they told me on the sewing academy I got the proportions wrong. Which pattern do you use for your 1860s bonnets?

I use the Miller's Millinery spoon bonnet pattern. I like it quite a bit. I've also used the low brim bonnet for the taupe-y colored one that I wore with my grey dress. But the black and green are the spoon bonnet pattern.

However, I don't claim to be an expert, but I have seen CDVs with bonnets shaped like yours!

Thank you, I've always loved blue, and this has a pretty smokey tone to it.
Aren't hats fun?! And so much easier to make and store than dresses - instant chic :)
