Summer Elizabethan demo
Jul. 13th, 2012 04:21 pmThe summer demo we do each year is at a 'country fair' in Melton Mowbray (home of the famous pork pies) and it's held in a park, so it's nice and green and leafy for photos ;)
Now, be prepared, you might need your sunglasses for mummy's outfit! The photos, however, can all be found
The two of us:

Sorting out Mummy's ruff:

So that we can look beautiful and serene for the next photo ;)

I ended up using over 25metres of braid on Mummy's outfit!

Mine was much more restrained:

I used the same forpart and sleeves as last time, I love how well the red goes with both last time's gold and this sage green, I wonder what other colours I could do?!

You can't really see it very well, but I painted a watercolour miniature from one of the photos I took last time. It's in an antique frame of my great grandmother's, I'll try to get some better shots of it sometime.

We got to say hello to some very pretty birds too!

Finally, one very silly shot!

I think the codpiece went to her head ;)
I have some photos from a small Victorian ball we had in May, but they're on the other camera card, and it's at home, so I've no idea when I'll get round to posting them! Otherwise, I'm finally all caught up! The only other things I have finished that I could show you are a 1920s brassiere and tap pants I made from one of Granny's silk nighties from the '40s, but they're a teeny bit revealing, so I'm afraid you may have to use your imagination ;)
