I made my 1920s dress today, and while I love it, and it turned out exactly as I hoped it would, I have a horrid feeling it might look more like a leopard print potato sack than an early '20s summer frock :(
Also, I'm not sure which hat to go with, so

The print is more like autumn leaves in real life, although very stylised, but it does look scarily leopard print like on film :( anyway, this is the hat I made for tomorrow's Edwardian trip, you can't really see them in the photo, but I would replace the tall ribbons with droopy ostrich feathers like this hat: http://www.thepeoplehistory.com/1920sfashion/accessories1921/1921highsiderollinghat.jpg

This is actually one of our Regency hats, but worn pulled down over the forehead instead of on the back of the head, it makes quite a nice early '20s hat I think. I would trim it with stylised felt flowers across the front, a bit like this hat: http://www.thepeoplehistory.com/1920sfashion/accessories1923/1923fancydresshat.jpg

The binding at the neck and cuffs, and the hem are all pinned ready to be finished in the car tomorrow, and the belt/sash thingy is pinned ready to be tacked on, but otherwise, it's all done :) Bathing suit next I think - apples and pears here I come!

I love it! And the second hat is adorable and looks easier to travel with than the first, which is also a great hat :)

Thank you :) The second hat would be sooo much easier to travel with! And seeing as it has everyone's approval, I think that's what I'll do :)
