what a week, half term has flown by, i thought it'd be better having roly's op this week, but i've needed to do so much, and he's needed a lot of attention, so the 2 didn't really go together well. he seemed so much better earlier this week, and on thurs when he went for his check up the vet was really pleased with how well he's been doing, but on friday he started to seem really down, didn't want to play and off his food even more than usual. then last night he started retching and vomiting up little puddles of bile. this morning he couldn't put his paws up on my legs, it hurt him, and some of last night's supper was in a puddle of bile form over night, so we took him to the vet. they don't know what's wrong, gave us some painkillers and something to help line his stomach. we had to give him the painkiller with food, and the tummy stuff 2 hours before food, so he spent the rest of the morning lying on my lap, very subdued, he couldn't get up on to the sofa on his own, when usually he makes a flying leap across the room. but after he'd had his painkiller and it had had an hour to work he seemed like his old self again, helping us clear the last of the rooms for the window men, and running round the table and wanting to play again, so i think maybe the problem was he was in pain. they only gave us painkillers after the op for 2 days, and the label says you'll see an improvement after 2 or 3 days, so i think the effect didn't wear off until thursday night, that's why he seemed fine after the op, and so he was all of a sudden in pain, the cut they made is only small, but they prodded and pulled his little insides about, so it must hurt him! he's going back again on tuesday so we can see what they reckon then, but we all think he was so much better after the pain killer that hopefully he'll be fine soon, keep your fingers and toes crossed for him! he had me so worried this morning, i didn't think he'd last the day, but then he perked up so much, i love him so much but he breaks my heart :)
the amount of clearing and tidying we've done is amazing, we have so much rubbish to get rids of though!
on good news, we went shopping yesterday and i found some yarn to make into a shrug, and an absolutely gorgeous dress, that i couldn't resist because it's pure silk and lace, with a wool and cashmere matching cardigan all for only £20!!
the puppy just came and joined us on the sofa, but he cried as he jumped up, so now i'm worried again, i don't think i can ever have another animal again, it hurts too much :(

Poor little guy. I had a hysterectomy, and I totally know what he's going thru. He should probably not be running and jumping for awhile anyhow, since it can pull stitches and skin that is trying to meld together again. I was told not to move around much either. I know it's not even a close comparison but along the same lines.
Hope he feels better soon.

thank you, i feel a bit better now, sorry for your experience though. we've been trying to keep him 'calm', but the first half of the week he kept saying 'but there's nothing wrong with me!' so it was more of a shock for him to suddenly stop, and say 'oh mummy it hurts'. but this morning he seems much better again, so we'll have to wait and see :)
