amadeus pics
May. 12th, 2006 04:06 pmwe had to photograph the costumes for amadeus to send to the examiner so he knows who he's marking, so i took the opportunity to take pics!
this is the first time i'd had to make the costumes for a play form scratch, so don't expect wonders!
( constanze ) has to strip, so she has a real corset under there that i adapted from one i made in college, bloomers and a bum roll, the polonaise is a butchered 80s evening gown with lace and ribbons sewn on, and i made the peticoat from some lining fabric. you can't see in the pic but i made her a hairpeice too, i'll post about that later.
( mozart ) has 2 coats, the blue one is made form the old theatre curtains' pelmet, the other one is a greeny brown velvet made from some fabric i found in my granny's drawers (i took the pattern off the red coat).
( the venticelli ) are played by the emperor and the count, the waistcoats of all the men i re-made from ladies long line waistcoats, and i took the sleeves off normal white shirts, and made longer fuller ones from an old sheet, and used the sleeves to make the neckbands, then i added lace ruffles all over the place!
( count rosenburg ) has the coat that was already in the theatre wardrobe, that i used far a pattern for the other coats. i had to put on the braid, and the buttons i made. i had a button that i cast in fimo, then used a hot glue gun to make the buttons, then sprayed them.
( emperor joseph's ) coat was a horror to make, the fabric shed everywhere, there was only just enough, and i can't iron it!
( salieri ) is the vilain of the peice, my boss wanted it to be quite panto-y, so he is of course in black! at one point he has a long swooshy black cloak to wear, (i had to take up the whole passage to cut it out on the floor!)
he and mozart have black wigs that i made, at the moment they're wearing the same one, but salieri's will be messyer, meaner etc. the emperor and the count are wearing the same wig at the moment, the emperor will have a bigger and more poncy one though, and when he has the white face, red lips and a beauty spot he'll look great!
animal farm dress rehearsal on monday, so i might post pics of that too!
