I forgot to post last night! I didn't get to work on Mummy's cap because she had to go to work, so I worked on my stuff instead. The sunflower has the back pleats finished at the top and sewn down, the skirts are pleated and sewn and the back under the pleats is sewn down. All that's left is hemming the fronts and the hem (which I can't do till I have my shoes, which hopefully I'll get in the next day or two) and sleeves. I refitted the sleeve mockup last night, and cut the out, ironed and pinned so they're all ready to be sewn together and hemmed ready for cuffs! I think I'm going to do the cuffs before I sew them into the armhole so that I have some small sewing to take to work.
Now I'm going to get down to working on Mummy's cap :) Still haven't decided if I'm going to use silk net or swiss muslin ... hmmm

I finished Mummy's cap today, it's very silly :) But then, it was meant to be, so that's OK!

Once the cap was done I was starting to fix the too big bib on my striped linen regency drop front (that I think I will wear to get to the dance on Sunday so I don't crease my silk sitting in the car for an hour) when some of my dancing friends came for tea, bringing with them my new 18thC shoes!! So once they'd gone, and after I'd finished prancing round the house like a loon! I put my hoops and petticoat on so that Clare could measure the length, then I ripped the panels for the skirt. I decided to use cream silk for the top of the back panel to save fabric, and I'm very glad I did because I only have about 90" left to make the sleeve frills and all the trimming :'( I'm very worried it won't be enough, so now I'm thinking about which parts of the trim I want to do I could leave off or replace...
