i want to make an over garment to wear in the winter over my 1860s dresses and probably bustle dresses too, something like these 2 patterns from truly victorian
TV500
Talma Wrap
TV501
1871 Bleted Mantle
has any one used them? i can't for the life of me work out what kind of pattern peices i need otherwise i would draft my own.
also, has anyone heard of the outer garments book by jean hunniset? i bet the pattern i want would be in there, but 40 odd quid seems a bit steep for a book that only might be what i want :)

thank you!
if you could make me copies of the patterns you have that would be wonderful, and either you could post them to a friend my sister is staying with while we're in ney york, or we could meet up when i'm there :)
i've seen one period pattern on line, but it had no instructions and i couldn't for the life of me work out how the pieces went together, do yours have any instructions? maybe i'm just being totally dumb! i think i might have to give in and use a modern pattern, which is reealy annoying!
what eras does the hunnisett book cover? it might be a better bet after all if it covers the regency as well for example.
