photos of actual bodices :)
Mar. 30th, 2008 10:36 pmnot FINISHED bodices!
for some reason the silk for the ball gown does not photograph as the same colour, it's much more grey in real life, and doesn't have nearly as much shimmer, but it's still lovely either way.
the ball gown doesn't look anything at the moment, but it will soon, i hope!

i think i made it a bit low in back, looking back at the fitting pics i think it makes her look like she's leaning back, so hopefully i left enough seam allowance at the top to put the piping on much higher up, and i can make the bertha over lap a bit too i think.
her basque is looking lovely, even if i do say so myself :) don;t be fooled though, the sleeves and trim are all pinned on :p

i reeeealy messed up the matching at the back :(

i hope it's not going to be too noticable :( i think i'll have to have a look and see if i can squeeze another back out of the fabric i have left :( if i can't do you think people will notice it?
the room that all these photos were taken in is not my sewing room, it's the dining room, but my sewing room is also doubling as mummy's office at the moment, and it's the room we always sit in, so i don't think i'll be able to do much costuming in there, the sewing yes, but not the cutting out and draping on the stand, maybe when i get to the regency :)
i really should go to bed now, we came back form dancing over an hour ago, but since the clocks changed today i think it's nearly 10 not nearly 11 :) i need to get up in the morning though and go shopping for piping and something for bone casings, so i need to go to sleep :)
