my birthday ball :)

it was wonderful :)
i don't have many photos, but we had the video camera rolling for the whole of the first half of the ball, so there will probably be more videos than you can stomach in the next few days :)
anyways, some photos, they're not great for showing the dress off, but they came out very well i think.

i'm too tired for words, but it was so much fun :)
anyway, here we are!

no smiles allowed :p clare is turning them into 'period' photos for me, she has much better photo shop skillz than me!
they are all pretty similar, but don't we just look too cute :p




i'm too tired to edit videos now, but i'll try to get to it tomorrow.

thank you! we were trying so hard to pose like we were in a daguerrotype or something :) as soon as clare's worked her magic i'll post again.
the silk is much prettier in person! it's much more silver, less orange, but it still has that fabulous sheen.

thank you! we did, all of us, very much so!
we were dancing all night, 8 till midnight and then some :) poor mummy was very tired, but kept on dancing manfully, and clare was exhausted, sitting out for the last few dances, but she jumped up for the last dance to be my partner, and we definitely went out with a bang!

Funny how the colour comes out more reddish/orange than pink on my screen! Yet the last photo you showed of the fabric showed it as very pink.

oh yes it totally did :) there are no photos of it, but i wore it for the grand march, so you'll see video. anyway, the fabric you sent went into my train :) so thank you so much :) and there's plenty left to make a day bodice too!
