i sewed today!

mlsdesignsyup, i did, honest!!
i hemmed some work trousers that have been waiting MONTHS to be done, and i've sewn the seams of mummy ball gown bodice and sewn the piping, it's pinned round the neck ready to sew. not much, i know, especially since i had today off work! but it's better than nothing, which is my track record so far this week :)
i found what i think might be black tulle/wedding veiling on ebay, but it's US ebay, and my wonderful friend who's husband works on a US base is away for the week, so i can't ask her if i can have it shipped to her. i want it to make the under-sleeves, and maybe the bertha too. i guess it can wait though, it'll be ages before i get that far :p i think i've decided about the skirt though, i was unsure whether to do the flounces on the bias, but i think i like the look of straight grain more, plus it's less work :) so if, by some miracle, i get the bodice done, i can make the skirt while i wait for the tulle.
now, i just have to try to sew tomorrow too, and i might get something done :)

Date: 2009-02-10 01:50 pm (UTC)Did you check joann.com? I can usually get tulle there and they have all kinds of colors. That is the place where we got all of the cotton prints. On the home page, they sometimes have a link for a coupon that you can use at checkout, too.
