Getting there, slowly but surely! Things are nearly sorted for our 3 styles of dance demo on Wednesday; we have all the victorian stuff we need, it just probably needs an iron; my 18th century stuff is sorted, although I think I'd like a new cap, and today I finished Mummy's dress, and we found a scarf that will do for a fichu/neckerchief but I'd rather she have a proper one. (So here's the question, any ideas on the dimensions of a neckerchief? I found one in my 18th century embroidery book that is a triangle 32" along the straight edges, is this average? Any ideas?!?) But she is at least done if I don't make a better one. (I took pics today of Mummy new dress at my last fitting, in the whole get up and I think she looks great!! I was going to post pics now, but I think I'll wait till after, so my local Flist member gets a surprise :)) We both have regency dresses and chemisettes, but Mummy must have a cap, so that's on the agenda for tomorrow, if I can decide what style to go for :)
As far as 'we'd be indecent without' goes all I REALLY still need to make is the cap for Mummy, but I want to have a regency hat of some kind for me, and Mummy too, and like I said, I want a new 18th century cap, and mostly I want a spencer. You see my dress is silk, and it has elbow length sleeves because I ran out of fabric (Mummy's dress is cotton and has long sleeves). We're supposed to be in day clothes, and not finery, and I think a spencer will help me look a bit less like Miss Woodhouse and more like a Miss Bennet :)
So, listy list in a sort of priority:
Mummy's cap
Fix straps on regency petticoat
Make loops for ties on regency dress
Me regency hat
Mummy regency hat
Spencer
New 18th C cap
I think headwear is probably more important than the spencer, (especially as if it's fine I think we're dancing outside) and wearing a hat should make me look less 'ball-y' to the public :) I'm on half term holiday this week, so should have time to make a start at least I think, but Monday will be pretty much taken up with helping at a craft fair in the village, and probably I'll be baking for it tomorrow!!

ETA: I have to make us both some regency hair too, I don't have any short hair round my face for ringlets, and Mummy hates having her hair curled, so I'm going to try to make fake ones on clips!

I have a couple hair clips I bought at the San Francisco Dickens Faire that use three curls that are sewn to a strip of grosgrain ribbon, then glued to a small hair clip. A small black bow is glued to that to cover the clip.
Mine got a little frazzled after getting caught in my bonnet, so I bought a curly hair piece I'm going to make some new ones with. The curls cost me $36, the hair piece $24, and I can get about 6-8 sets out of it. So very economical. I haven't made them yet, but look forward to hearing about yours.

I'm going to make them a bit like the ones I made last summer for the 1830s, but just a lot lot smaller!!!
