Finally!

Well, I managed to do some work today! My pelise is all finished except inside finishing, fastening and hem, all of which will be done on holiday next week. I'm in love with it now I think, the lining is so gorgeous, so silky (yeah yeah, I know, what else did I expect!!) and I love the colours together! It even goes with my blue dress and hat, so the fact I won't have time to make the spencer (at least, not the way I want to) is less of an issue. But wow is it warm! I wouldn't have thought that one layer of silk velvet, a layer of thin cotton and silk taffeta could be so insulating! When I tried it on with my shift, stays, petti and thin cotton dress I had to get out of it pretty quick!! You know what this means though! Bath will be experiencing a mini heatwave :p
So, tomorrow it's work and hopefully a bit of sewing when I get home, and then I have Thursday and Friday, in which I'm hoping to make a pelise for Mummy (not so complicated as mine I hope) some cookies for the holiday and clean house a bit. Hmm, can I do it? maybe, especially as Mummy's home from work now for the rest of the week, so even if she doesn't help much, she'll hopefully be a bit motivational, for Clare as well as me :p
