the joys of spring

mlsdesignsi'm feeling full of them at the moment, and it's only the beginning of march! spring doesn't start here normally until the middle of april!
the bride came round for a fitting yesterday, and it went very well, she was really pleased with it, the shape on her is lovely, and even though it's navy i think she's still going to look very bridal. as i expected the skirt waist is too big, easily changed, but what surprised me is that it's not too long, she's incredibly short, and is only wearing 2 1/2" heels, so a normal height person would have a skirt that's too short, who on earth did they design the pattern for? i couldn't finish the corset coz we'd never really discussed how she wants the edges finished, bound or hidden binding, also i wasn't totally sure the straps were working, they needed a little taking out at the back, but now i can finish it all in the next day or so, and be able to get back to real life!
i haven't decided what to charge her yet, i'll work out my hours then decide an hourly rate. i'm going to put the money in a separate savings account and save for the summer when i want to get another puppy. i'll put all money not from my pay check in this account and see how rich i am by the end of term :) i have the village spring fair next weekend, a craft fair in may, and the village arts fair in august to gain funds from. i'm missing roly so much now, life isn't complete without a puppy for cuddles and walks and romps. there are some adorable puppies in the village, nearly 2 weeks old, that i can play with whenever i like, but it's not the same :)
i'm also very happy to have my day off at last!
