i want to see costumes! where do i go!
am i wrong in remembering the metropolitan museum of art? is it like the V and A? with all sorts of decorative arts from all over, so that clare and mummy will not be too bored?
any where really good and not too expensive to eat in the garment district?
so very excited now!!!
also, what IS the rockefeller centre?!

ETA, wow, i should have written down what lara told me, she answered all my questions then i think! but any good places to eat you can throw at me ...!?

Yes, the Metropolitan Museum of Art is wonderful and has the Costume Institute downstaris from the Eguptian exhibits. I am sorry to say that I believe the costume institute is currently between major exhibits. The Poiret exhibit closed in August and the next one opens in December I think. I am not sure what ir if they are displaying any garments at the moment.

Rockefeller center is a few buildings near touristy shopping, Radio City Music Hall and St. Patrick's Cathedral. It is best known for the plaza with the ice rink where the big christmas tree is every year. If you like ice skating it is a fun thing to do and the rink is now open. http://rapatina.com/iceRink/

Nlso it has the nintendo center, and I am a giant dork. So while they are not being dorks, I shall be in there with my DS feeding my inner geek (this is M's sister, by the way).

thank you! just after i posted i wrote down everything you told me!
i love the idea of skating in new york, none of us can skate, but it'd be so cool to say we'd done it :)
