Jul. 31st, 2009 12:39 amOne of the things that tired me out so much is I had 2 ball gowns to make for the ball in the middle of our 2 weeks holiday! Mummy didn't like her first one, and she ripped it, so I made her a new one, from a lovely sari covered in gold and silver spangles! The sari is black, but it's so sheer I mounted it on golden taffeta.

I also used the pelu, the decorated end panel, to make a removable train that hangs from the waist in back, I meant to take a pic at the ball, but needless to say that never happened!!
I made the turban the afternoon we came home from the first half of our holiday, Mummy napped, Clare Knitted and I made the turban, then we dressed and went to the ball!
I couldn't resist posting this wonderful photo!!

Aunt Pittypat lives again :p I'm such a mean daughter to put this out into the big wide world!!
Clare needed everything skin out! She usually dresses as a boy, and makes a splendid one too! But she's decided she wants to try being a girly girl too!

And a shot of her with Psyche, that shows her bodice a little better.

We got back again on Sunday night, to find the power had been off all week so we had 3 freezers to empty! Tuesday I started working again on my blue cotton plaid, and stopped once the bodice was done to move on to a new petti, which I just finished a few hours ago (I love it!!! I wanted to whip out a quick one, but decided in the end it just had to have 7 tucks and a hand gathered waistband!!) so now the plaid skirt is hemmed and ready to pleat tomorrow. I'm a bit fed up with this dress now, I've been working on it on and off for so long! But the end is in sight, it needs a collar and undersleeves, then I can move on to Mummy's new bodice and Clare's hems all need shortening, then I can make myself some more pretties!!!
