A ball and a stroll
Oct. 30th, 2012 10:39 pmI am alive! I'm so sorry I've been absent so long, (I have been reading my Flist, and commenting some, not enough though!) I've been busy sewing, but most of the time I've just not felt like posting, I'm in a bit of a funk at the moment, I think there's definitely something in the air! Anyway, this weekend definitely needs a post!
On Saturday we had a Victorian Ballmoral ball, for which I of course needed something new! and on Sunday we were supposed to be going to a National Trust place, but ... things went a bit wrong.
So, ( pop under the cut to see photos from the ball )
I was all ready for our trip to the NT place, I spent last week making a new dress, finishing it just in time, and I even spent Saturday afternoon, (after finishing work in the shop in the morning and decorating the hall after lunch, but before getting ready in the evening) making a black wool capelet to go with a new black fur muff cover. Luckily, we got home from the ball earlier than usual, so I had just enough time to sew the fur trim onto the capelet before bed, knowing I could finish the collar and sew the hooks on in the morning. The clocks went back ( or forward, I always get muddled! We got an extra hour in bed anyway!) so I was up nice and early and finished my capelet, got mummy dressed and we were just putting our gloves on ready to go meet our friends, when they rang to say Mel was sick and the others didn't really feel like going anyway. Pooh!! I was NOT going to get changed, so I dragged mummy out anyway! we decided to go to a local park to find some pretty Autumnal scenery, taking Emmy with us of course! ( and the photos of our walk can be found under here! )
So, all in all, while it wasn't what we'd planned, we had a nice Sunday anyway!
