Here we go, let's see how long this takes!!

Silk 1820s afternoon dress for a Playford ball held in a very cold historic hall!

Sunflower Sack Back, made for the Georgian Minuette ball in Bath, worn again at UTR.

Ruffly hoops!!!!

Clare's pink suit (with help from Clare), Mummy's breeches and waistcoat, also worn at the Minuette ball in Bath.

A very bad picture of Clare's Regency sari ball gown!

My gold Gaule, made on a whim and I love it!!

Indian print Duchess inspired jacket and petticoat, and faun and pink mini tricorn.

Gold stripe ballgown, and, my most favourite thing ever, my Emmy ridicule!

Red wool round gown, long sleeved shift, Swiss muslin split ruffle cap and trimmed round hat.

Spotted voile chemise dress for Jenny Rose's picnic :)

Bathing dresses for the three of us, made to withstand cold English seas!

Anglaise made from an Ikea duvet cover, and brown linen petticoat.

Plaid silk dress for me, spotted silk dress and plaid turban for Mummy, plaid sleeveless spencer for Clare, for the Playford ball in Scotland.

Remade white sheere dress, Clare's plaid bustle skirt and blue velvet evening bodice.

Clare's blue velvet day bodice and straw hat with blue wings.

Day bodice for gold stripe ballgown skirt.

Clare's cotton print shirt waist and bustle skirt, cream straw hat.

The only half way decent shot I have of Mummy's blue cotton print day gown! I really need her to wear this for some good pictures!!!

Clare's new corset.

Clare's scarlet wool spencer, my blue wool puffed sleeve spencer.

Clare's Ikea duvet cover drop front day dress.

Mummy's insane turban!

Clare's red and cream sari ballgown.

Gold spot sari ballgown.

Mummy's green wool pelise.

Mummy's red and black shot silk ballgown, and my retrimmed pink ballgown.

Mummy's new corset.

Mummy's green velvet hat with turkey feather trim.

I have GOT to get some proper photos of this dress! She's worn it three times and I still don't have any pics!

'Skirt' for my brown silk velvet spencer, rabbit fur muff and tippet.

Clare's blue silk embroidered waistcoat.

Blue silk jumps, finished just in time for the party, and, of course, I don't have any proper photos!
I've decided I need to do less this year, this list took far too long! All afternoon!!! It's so much fun to see it all in one place though ;)

Date: 2011-01-04 12:37 pm (UTC)I got my gold spot sari from the local sari shop 10minutes down the road! I live in Leicestershire, which has a very large Indian population, in Leicester itself there is an entire street of nothing but sari shops, everything from £6,000 wedding saris to £5 printed polyester everyday saris. I'm spoilt for choice!!!

Date: 2011-01-07 10:57 pm (UTC)A sari is usually 5yds long, with 1yd making up the pelu (highly decorated, or contrasting, end that hangs over the shoulder when a sari is worn), and either a made up blouse or a seperate length for the blouse, if it's an embroidered sari there will be 2 little bits of embroidery for the sleeves on the blouse piece as well.
The ones I've bought have varried wildly in price. Clare's red and gold and Mummy's black with the gold brocade border both cost £15 I think, Mummy's black with gold spangles and Clare's cream with gold spangles both cost £35 (they were in a sale) and my gold spot with the beads and spangles was the most expensive at £65.
